90-year-old Husband suffered stroke on right/dominant side 14 years ago. TIA last year reduced his strength further and lately incontinence became more severe. Looking for efficient way to help support him in upright position without fall risk, but NOT lifting him. Have Hoyer lift with harness, but that doesn't cover his backside, so that I can clean him. Anyone have this issue and found a creative solutions or efficient product for such a problem?

Hoyer has more than one harness type that can be used on their machines. Even though your husband is a hemiplegic, a standing sling that just supports him through the arm/armpits might help. It should lift him enough for you to clean in a upright position. We use an Invacare Get-U-up Lift with a standing sling and the patient is hemiplegic on the right side too.

A condom catheter might help reduce frequent diaper changes. I hope you have a fully operational hospital bed with bed handles. Hospital nurses wash bedridden patients all the time by rolling the patient side to side. New hospital beds also tilt side ways to aid in rolling patients.

There are toileting slings for the lift that leave his backside exposed to "take care of business". You might also find it easier to clean him up while lying in bed, I assume he is wearing an incontinence brief? I'll include a couple of videos that you may find helpful, plus there are many others available on YouTube:

My husband is bedridden and I find it easier to leave him lying in bed and roll him from side to side to wash him and change diapers and bedsheets.
