Although we communicate by phone & computer, it has now been a month since I have actually met with any friends, and I am so down. I have been caring for my husband for 8 years, and had stripped down my outings to one a week. That was my absolute minimum amount of fun, and now that is gone. I am so sick of discussions of what hurts most today, and I lost any ability to brighten the conversation.

You e been dealing with these feelings for a long time. I understand. When you were younger, you certainly didn’t expect to be spending your twilight years like this. Me either. I’ve taken care of my husband for over a decade. But, since the beginning of this year, he’s been in 3 different hospitals for life-threatening health issues. Yesterday marked three weeks since I’ve seen him.

Although it’s not easy, you need to make yourself “un-lonely”. I lose myself in a book at least once a day. I knit. It’s not much, but it’s enough. No one will take care of you but you. Sending hugs and understanding.

I’m so sorry that you don’t get a break or a change of scenery. That is very difficult. Sending hugs your way 💗. One day, don’t know when but that day is coming that you can get out of the house again.

Chlokara - lots of people are in the same boat as you. What we need is something to look forward to. I know it doesn't seem like it, but his pandemic quarantine will end eventually. So, how about making plans for what you want to do and where to go later. That will keep your mind busy for awhile

Some posters also mention cleaning and organizing the house to keep them busy and sane.
