He has terminal cancer and was given 6 months to 2 years to live, and that was back in March/2019. I have dropped my work load at work by 50% to be here for him(were I need to be) and I know in the short future I will be 100% caregiver. I cannot survive economically at this point in time.

Find Care & Housing
I really dislike the word partner. Are you husband and wife? Significant others that just live together? Or you don't live together?

Rules are different based on the relationship. If married, I don't think you can be paid. Otherwise, possibly, but you need a caregiver agreement and partner has to have the money to pay you, and be competent to agree to it and sign the agreement that would be prepared by an elder law attorney.

please do not respond if you are just going to dislike what someone says. This is very important information I am asking about.

Is your partner on Medicaid? Some states will pay for a family member or friend to provide caregiving a set number of hours, as a way of trying to keep the person needing care at home instead of a facility. My understanding of this is that the pay is not great and may not be for a full-time schedule of hours.

Looking quickly online it looks like Washington state may have such a program. You would want to do further research to see if he meets the guidelines but here is one site I found with some information:
